What: The MINGLE LOG for Week One of the Asgard Eventide Reunion!
When: March 1-7
Where: Anywhere in town!
Rating: PG-13 tops! Anything higher than that should be taken to a private log, please.

[ OOC NOTES: Whether you're making a return to the city or this is your first time setting foot into Asgard, the gods and Natives alike sure are happy to see you. This is a catch-all mingle log for Week One! Please check HERE for a run-down on what's cookin' this week. You can feel free to make your own headers, create your own events, or post your own logs elsewhere as you please. Please put [OPEN/CLOSED] along with the time/location of your character in the title of your comment.

As a note: we were super fortunate to have a few of our old NPC handlers volunteer to pick up their old Gods for the reunion! We currently have Hel, Heimdall, Baldr, Thor, Freyr, Mimir, Honir, Asgard!Loki, and also Frigg available for threading. If you'd like to request an appearance from one of these kids, please say so in the title of your comment. Some of us may make our own top-level as well, so be on the lookout for that! A million thanks to our NPC team for being so fantastic, we love and appreciate you so much.

"Yes I am fair enough. That does not negate my preference for you to cook." Oh so serene.

Elrond reached up to tug on some of Maglor's hair once more. "Perhaps not, though I may just let her win." Oh did he say that? >3

"You should remember I do not forget any lesson I have been taught."

"Lazy!" Maglor tsks. "Whatever would your lady say if she could hear you."

"Elrond!" Maglor huffs at him in mock surprise. "Well now that is a surprise, that you would willingly cede your favoured treat!"

A fond smile. "That I remember well."

"If you were to cook for her, she would understand!" Because his Celebrian had a big heart.

Elrond stifled a grin, laughing eyes glittering at his foster father. "You do recall what your beloved sister does, correct?" Teaseteasetease~

"As you should. It has been extended to my work in Imladris." A place of safety, of comfort. And of learning.

[bythewaves]

"Ah now, I am not getting into that argument! Critiquing a lady's cooking is always fraught with peril, e'en if she be not present."

A raised eyebrow. "I remember - I also note none of us have our old abilities, right now~"

Maglor nods, fond and pleased. "I am glad. I heard the tales and was pleased to see that things went well for you."

Innocent. "I would do no such thing. I would simply comment that I enjoy your cooking and I am certain she would wish to see for herself." So reasonable!

Elrond hummed softly. "I think it may help keep the peace. Levels the field, as one might say."

A soft, pleased little smile. "I am glad you kept an eye on me, even if you never did visit near enough for me to see."

Maglor snorts, amused. "At least you know well how to speak pleasant words!"

He nods. "Well considering some of the folk you were here before I wonder if it was deliberate."

He ducks his head shyly. "I did not wish to interrupt your life but ...I could not stay away entirely."

A serene blink. "I learned well."

Elrond inclined his head, acknowledging the point. "As long as there is no repeat and the peace remains." aka no chance of Maglor dying again.

A gentle squeeze to a hand. "I would have liked an interruption if it came in the form of you visiting. In lieu of that, I am glad you came near enough to know some of my life."

Another amused chuff and Maglor cuffs him lightly.

"So you did."

Look it was only the once...

"Aye - I hope so as well! I wish I had known but... either way I am glad to have this chance now."

He chuckled and prodded right back.

Once was too many! Don't make him tell Maedhros.

Elrond brushed fingers over Maglor's hand, tugging it up to press an affectionate kiss to scarred fingers. "As am I. I am glad we were both invited back here."

You can't tell Maedhros it will only make him worry!

"Even so." Maglor squuezes his hand fondly. "Carry my wishes to my family, when you return?"

Then don't die again!

Elrond smiled softly against his foster father's hand. "I will. You know I will."

Fine then he will try not to. But that doesn't mean that Elrond should go getting in trouble either!

"Thank you, yonya. I will be content so long as you are."

Good. Oh please. Elrond's the sensible one.

"Then you will forever be content." Smug. Because as long as he had his family, he expected to be happy. Even if his brother and daughter would be lost to time, he would continue to carry their memory with him.

[bythewaves]

That means nothing and you know it.

"Good!" Maglor laughs softly. "And for as long as there are those who tell tales, I will see it that yours is one they tell."

Shush you. No one else has to know that.

Elrond scoffed lightly and poked Maglor. "Just as your kind heart will never be forgotten."

[bythewaves]

One day he will tell Riley all about your childhood escapes see if he doesn't.

"You might have a very small audience for that." Maglor points out wryly.

She's a bright girl. She probably's already figured out some of them.

So very wry. "But perhaps not as small as you believe." But fondly so.

Especially if you go spinning her like that.

"I think the eternal memories of the Eldar might make things difficult there."

She deserved it! Besides. He's one of the few who can get away with it~

"Yet not as difficult as you like to believe." Stubborn Peredhel here, Maglor. Deal with it - you raised him, after all!

He is not denying that.

"Perhaps you think so - but you are quite biased you know."

Good.

Elrond just smiled, giving Maglor's hand a teasing little pat. "Indeed so. Happily so. Though I have it on good authority that I am not the only one who would welcome you back, should you just forgive yourself."

[bythewaves]

"Ah Elrond. Ever hopeful. Even if I did, the Valar fence me from Valinor, remember? And how could I even begin to forgive myself for what I have done?"

[loveathousandyearsgone]

"Without hope, ada, much would be lost." None the least those who had no other place to go to recover, East of the Sea. "For the sake of those who love you."

[bythewaves]

"Perhaps so. But Hope is not for the Forsaken, I think."

A small stubborn shake of his head. "And what of those I killed?"

"Let me be your hope. And you are only Forsaken because you choose to be."

A stern stare met that stubbornness. Stubborn meet stubborn!

"Let them decide when you come before them. Or will you abandon those you love, and who love you?" He had this thing about abandonment...
