[ OOC NOTES: Whether you're making a return to the city or this is your first time setting foot into Asgard, the gods and Natives alike sure are happy to see you. As a note: we were super fortunate to have a few of our old NPC handlers volunteer to pick up their old Gods for the reunion! We currently have Hel, Heimdall, Baldr, Thor, Freyr, Mimir, Honir, Asgard!Loki, and also Frigg available for threading. If you'd like to request an appearance from one of these kids, please say so in the title of your comment. Some of us may make our own top-level as well, so be on the lookout for that! A million thanks to our NPC team for being so fantastic, we love and appreciate you so much.

ARRIVAL

[ the city is different - that's the first thing she thinks, as her vision settles and she comes to terms with everything around her. she's back in asgard, back in asgard, and the city is...together? there's a party happening, and jo just sort of wanders the streets, letting the natives come up and welcome her with a kind of blank look. she smiles easily enough, but none of this is really settling in.

she ends up with a kind of flower crown, probably some bread, but she can't stop herself from walking still. the streets are still how she remembers it, but the buildings have all changed. shifted around. she can't quite tell how long it's been, but it's been a while. a long while.

it's weird, to feel so comfortable and so lost in the same place, but she wanders in that state for a while. ]

SEARCHING FOR THE ROADHOUSE

[ it takes her a while before she suddenly realizes there's something she should be doing, and jo turns on her heels from where she'd been standing in an indiscreet sector of the city. she has a purpose, a place she needs to check, and it ends up pulling her into a run through the crowd. if she runs into someone, there is a chance that she might stop to talk to them, but there's a better chance she'll just apologize and keep running.

a few minutes later she makes it around a corner and down a street before slowing to a stop, staring a bit wide-eyed at the building in front of her.

no, she should have thought that the roadhouse would have made it, but staring down in the same spot it had been...it has her going a little quiet. very quiet, actually. she needs a drink. ]

[It's a little bit after things have settled down from his own arrival that Jamie finds himself out on the streets. He's looking for a few places himself, and he's caught up enough in that that he doesn't actually realize that he recognizes the person who's running by him until she's gone past - leaving him blinking after her in disbelief.]

Jo?

[There's really only one thing to do here, and almost immediately he takes off after her, following her path down the street and around the corner. With his powers, he thinks it'll be easy to catch up with her, but no matter what he tries to do, he can't seem to go any faster - and as a result, he doesn't manage to catch up until she she's stopped in front of a building he doesn't recognize. He's not at all sure why she's got that look on her face, either, and his brow knits together in confusion.]

Hey, what's wrong?

[ Jo isn't the only one who had the Roadhouse on her mind. Ash sought it out first thing, not really expecting to find much. But for him, its absence isn't quite as hard of a hit. The Roadhouse is his own personal heaven; he sees it whenever he pleases, but it's the people who are missing that make it feel not quite right.

He knew Jo would show up, and that's why he waited. ]

Thought you'd show up sooner or later. Well, at least one thing ain't missing.

[ He cocks a wide grin and holds out his arms, absolutely expecting a hug. ]

It's me.

[ she can't quite remember what she was looking for when she searched out the roadhouse. if it was the feeling, the building, the people. everything around her had an edge to it, an off taste in the back of her throat. for a place that had been home for almost longer than the original building, coming around the corner to find something else?

jo jumps at the sound of the voice, turning on her heels with her eyes wide. there's no- there's no way. but she turns and sees ash standing there and it's real.

it takes her a second, maybe more, for it to settle that it's actually him and he's honestly there. she doesn't both waiting at that point, because he's pretty much right on the point with that expectation. he better be 100% ready for this, because she nearly jumps into the hug when she gets closer. ]

I didn't think anyone else would be here.
