As a note: we were super fortunate to have a few of our old NPC handlers volunteer to pick up their old Gods for the reunion! We currently have Hel, Heimdall, Baldr, Thor, Freyr, Mimir, Honir, Asgard!Loki, and also Frigg available for threading. If you'd like to request an appearance from one of these kids, please say so in the title of your comment. Some of us may make our own top-level as well, so be on the lookout for that! "All over the place it was so disgusting!"

She laughed and held her belly as she did. It was gross sure but it was clear it was a very fond memory for her. Just like most memories that she had with Ellie. The things the two of them had lived through together. It hadn't even been that long a time really and yet...

Damn she loved her.

"And yet. Somehow that isn't surprising, knowing you two."

It really isn't. But from Riley's reaction to the memory being brought up, it's still at least one they can laugh about in hindsight. They all need more memories like that. Especially when those back home were rarer, for the three of them for obvious reasons in their situations there.

"But I guess it's not so bad if you can laugh about it now."

"Oh no. It was horrible and I was so sick. But I can laugh about it now."

She gave her a playful little shove. The sort of thing a big sister would give to a little sister. Because hey, that was exactly what Clem was to her.

"Come on. You have to have a gross story that is funny now."

Clementine takes the shove as such. That it's playful and some sort of way of showing their affection. She was an only child back home, but in a way, over time in Asgard she came to view others as sort of pseudo siblings. Which includes Ellie and Riley. Not that she has expressly actually admitted this.

"I already told you. I'm pretty sure. There was putting bugs under Duck's pillow. Or the salt lick."

Because. Well, she's pretty sure Riley wants a different kind of gross than Clementine trying to deal with some injuries on her own, for example.

For Riley it had been years since she last heard those stories so it took her a second or so to remember. Then she was laughing as she thought about what that had to be like.

"Shit I almost forgot! It's been so long since you shared those with me!"

"Something like that. What, seems like it's been.....a few hundred years or something?"

At a guess. Though really it's hard to say, exactly how long it has been. Regardless, it still brings a wry smile to her lips at the memories, the previous conversations between them, and small acts of rebellion and curiosity on her part.

"Yeah something like that. For me it's just been a few decades since you told me that story."

Riley gave a shrug then waved for Clem to come with her. "Hey, wanna get some food? I want to see how the food has changed here."

"I guess it has been a while. But....food sounds good!"

But then. For a girl who used to scavenge and consider a can of fruit or beans to be a luxury, Clementine would probably eat almost anything regardless of how familiar or not the food might be. It could be interesting to try some and see how and if it has changed much. So she tags along, making to quickly follow almost alongside the older girl.

"Great. Because I want a burger. And fries."

That was what Ellie had introduced her to when she'd first arrived here so it was still her favorite meal. Anytime she wanted to have something to eat she tended to just default straight to that. And it was delicious every single time. "Sound good?"

"Sure, sounds good to me! They probably have something at one of the stalls around."

There did seem to be quite a variety as Clementine explored, though she hadn't immediately stuffed herself, initially just savoring the smells and appreciating that, the sound of the food cooking. It's more often they managed with scavenging cans back home, after all. And hey, what's more classic and simple than a burger and fries?

So she turns, gesturing back the way she came.

Immediately Riley was with her, practically sniffing out the first burger place she could find. It was so important, man. Burgers! They were definitely up there in the favorite foods category.

"Hey did you ever have burgers where you're from? You know, before shit went down?"

"Course. I mean, I didn't have them that often, but we did. Lot of people all but lived off of that sort of thing, take-aways. Before.....you know."

But well. Now she is kind of curious. "Why? They not have burgers back home for you and Ellie?"

Of course, their situation was different. The whole virus thing or whatever had happened before they were born. A long time for things to change, especially food wise, depending on what they still had access to and could still grow and the like.

"Never had one until I first came here actually. It was the first thing Ellie and I ate together when I showed up."

Was it any surprise that this was why it was her favorite food to eat here? It probably shouldn't be that much of a shock honestly.

"What was it like getting take-away? Did they like...give it then take it away?"

"So that's why you liked it."

Well, aside from the fact if the food situation was as dire back home, she can only begin to imagine if it went on so long as it did for Ellie and Riley's world. Still, it does bring something of a smile to Clementine's lips even as she laughs, shaking her head.

"No....no, not like that. It meant you could order it online or over the phone, or at the food place and take it away with you back home to eat there, or just eat it in the car if you're traveling."
