What: The MINGLE LOG for Week One of the Asgard Eventide Reunion!

[ OOC NOTES: Whether you're making a return to the city or this is your first time setting foot into Asgard, the gods and Natives alike sure are happy to see you. This is a catch-all mingle log for Week One! Please check HERE for a run-down on what's cookin' this week. You can feel free to make your own headers, create your own events, or post your own logs elsewhere as you please. Please put [OPEN/CLOSED] along with the time/location of your character in the title of your comment.

As a note: we were super fortunate to have a few of our old NPC handlers volunteer to pick up their old Gods for the reunion! We currently have Hel, Heimdall, Baldr, Thor, Freyr, Mimir, Honir, Asgard!Loki, and also Frigg available for threading. If you'd like to request an appearance from one of these kids, please say so in the title of your comment. Some of us may make our own top-level as well, so be on the lookout for that! A million thanks to our NPC team for being so fantastic, we love and appreciate you so much.

[That's a familiar voice, and she immediately turns to look up at him, a wide smile on her face.]

Doctor!

[And then proceeds to latch right onto him. Yes, actually, she has found her lantern, thank you for asking!]

[ Well, Hibiki can be that excitable, but given that it follows that question he has a hunch she probably did. Not that it matters much. She's happy, and she's hugging him, so all that's left for him to, really, is hug back. He gets down on one knee first, though, to be more at her level and holds out his arms. ]

[She shifts when she feels him moving down to her level, but the hugging remains fairly tight throughout, and she eventually buries her face in his shoulder for a moment once she can.]

It's been a while! How are you?

[Not as terribly long as it could have been on her side, but time had definitely passed, what with the time it took to heal up after the accident and then the situation with the ~~dragon~~ ganabira.]

[ And he hugs her back, just as tight, with a hand on the back of her head and a wide smile on his face. Precious, precious Hibiki. He's so glad that despite the war, she's stayed her same bright self. ]

I'm brilliant. Fantastic. Never thought I'd get the chance to come back here as me again. And you?

I'm doing well! Things were a little rough at home for a bit, but... I think things will get better!

[Pochi is with his family again, so surely all will be well.]

I'm just glad I got to come back and see you again! I thought for sure I'd never be able to, once I went back...

[ He pulls away a little, and cups her cheeks as he presses a kiss to the top of her head. ]

Things usually get better.

I have confidence you'll never forget who you are, so you'll be just fine.

[She giggles at the kiss. It's just hard not to when you're somewhere so familiar again, with people you love and miss.]

Mm... I'm still very different in that world, I think. I still have so much to learn...

But... I want to try to learn as much as I can! Even if I can't use magic there, I want to help people there the way I was able to in Asgard.

It's you.

[ He lightly ruffles her bangs. ]

I'm sure you'll do it. You'll be brilliant.

I'll do my best!

[She looks properly determined and everything! ...at least, until something occurs to her.]

Um... what do you mean by, 'it's you' though?

[She does sorta still frequently make mistakes and all...]

You're hardworking and kind and honest and brilliant. Of course you'll do it.

[ Everyone makes mistakes. That's got nothing to do with it.

She gets a little boop on the nose for that question. ]

[She blinks in surprise as her nose is booped, but her expression quickly turns to one of embarrassment as his words register.]

Brilliant is a little...

[Well, okay, it's a huge overestimation. She's gained some confidence since she got here, but there's no way she'd consider herself brilliant by any means!]

No. It's not.

You're all brilliant.

[ He says it so matter-of-fact. Because to him it is. ]

[Uwaaaaah Doctor, you're way too kind as always...]

It just... feels like it's too much.

[It's such a hefty compliment for someone like her!]

That's just because you're way too modest. Nothing wrong with that.

Nothing wrong with thinking you're brilliant, either. If you ever feel like joining the club.

...I just don't think I'm there yet.

[Maybe... Maybe one day she could reach it. (Though she still has her doubts even then, but she knows the Doctor probably wouldn't want to hear that.)]

I know you're not.

You've got a long life ahead of you. Plenty of time to figure it out.
