What: The MINGLE LOG for Week One of the Asgard Eventide Reunion!
When: March 1-7
Where: Anywhere in town!
Rating: PG-13 tops! Anything higher than that should be taken to a private log, please.

[ OOC NOTES: Whether you're making a return to the city or this is your first time setting foot into Asgard, the gods and Natives alike sure are happy to see you. This is a catch-all mingle log for Week One! Please check HERE for a run-down on what's cookin' this week. You can feel free to make your own headers, create your own events, or post your own logs elsewhere as you please. Please put [OPEN/CLOSED] along with the time/location of your character in the title of your comment.

As a note: we were super fortunate to have a few of our old NPC handlers volunteer to pick up their old Gods for the reunion! We currently have Hel, Heimdall, Baldr, Thor, Freyr, Mimir, Honir, Asgard!Loki, and also Frigg available for threading. If you'd like to request an appearance from one of these kids, please say so in the title of your comment. Some of us may make our own top-level as well, so be on the lookout for that! A million thanks to our NPC team for being so fantastic, we love and appreciate you so much.

That gets a look from her that's both curious and hopeful. "Cycles...?"

She already doesn't get it, but if he really does think there's a chance, then maybe...!

"Well - you know the story we were told when we first got here, yes? Death and rebirth. So... cycles, aye? I wonder if coming and going here is the same."

[tea_rs]

"Cycles..." Of just returning and coming back? Huh...

"So you mean... after this, maybe we'll all be here in another six hundred years...?"

She's trying. She's trying so hard.

[bythewaves]

"Maybe!" Maglor shrugs. "It would be nice if we did though, do you not think? A regular reunion, of sorts."

[tea_rs]

"Maybe..."

Although the more she thinks about it...

"...Won't it be weird to keep coming back after so long, though?" It's not that she minds returning, it's just... well, it's already odd to think that the last time she was here was practically ancient history.

[bythewaves]

"Perhaps? Six hundred years is not so long to me, but I suppose it can seem so. But we do not know, after all, if this is mere fortunate chance, or something regular, eh?"

[tea_rs]

Surprises all around today. "H-huh?"

It's that first part she's totally hung up on, her mouth agape. "But... six hundred years is a really, really, really long time!"

She can't even figure out a better way to describe it than that. The scope is just too large to her.

[bythewaves]

"I suppose it might seem so!" Maglor laughs at her surprise softly.

"But for one of my people it is not quite so."

[tea_rs]

"How long do you normally live?" If six hundred years were really so little, then...

[bythewaves]

"We are tied to the world, and exist as long as it does."

So. Almost forever.

[tea_rs]

...Wow. Okay, yes, that is a very long time.

"...H-how old is your world...?"

[bythewaves]

"Ah now... you know, I am not entirely certain. I myself have seen some nine thousand five hundred years, but my grandfather is one of the First, and he was born in the very early years of the world."

[tea_rs]

...Oh goodness gracious.

"N-n-n--"

"Nine thousand?!"

Hang on a sec Maglor, it's going to take a while for her brain to wrap around this.

[bythewaves]

That never gets old.

"Give or take a few hundred - before the moon and sun rose we tracked time differently, which is why I do not know exactly how old the world is."

[tea_rs]

Maglor please take pity on the girl, you just seriously broke her brain.

"B-but..."

Oh gosh. Oh gosh. She doesn't even know where to start.

"Before--?!"

[bythewaves]

He shakes his head at her and ruffles her hair fondly.

"I am very, very old, dear one."

[tea_rs]

"You don't look old at all, though-!"

He looks even younger than the Director! Who is, ironically and unbeknownst to her, much younger than he looks as well.

[bythewaves]

Maglor chuckles softly. "Only to mortal eyes, little brave-heart. We Eldar carry our age in our spirits, in our eyes - not in our bodies as humans do. After all, it has to last us til the end of the world!"
