"Boo?" Irving had a smirk on his face. What prey tell are you up to? Though, naturally, he doesn't actually ask that yet. He'll just let his amusement do the talking.

"Something like that," Clara gaped up and over at Brax, trying not to look too embarrassed by her clumsiness. "I was just trying to get a look at someone." The second the words were out of her mouth, she realized how it sounded and hurried to pick herself up. "Not you! Since I...already found you, obviously."

"Well, I rather think I found you," he pointed out. "Did you do something terribly embarrassing when you were last here? Can't imagine why you need to take such precautions?"

"I'm trying to watch the Doctor," she explained, quickly realizing that it likely sounded creepy. "I can't see him in person, not until I know for sure that he remembers me."

"Why, will he explode?" he asked, only joking a little. With the Doctor, one never knew.

That was a good question. One that made her frown and shrug. "I'm not sure. His brain very well could! I'm not sure what happened to him once the memory block went in place."

A memory block. There's a brief pause when he remembered using one on Romana. To forget him entirely.

"Memory blocks break down all the time, Clara," he reassured her. "He shouldn't blow up, at least, not directly thanks to the memory block." He didn't, after all, know the reasoning behind the block. For Braxiatel, Romana needed to not remember Pandora because she would have taken her over. The effect of her memories reemerging meant that she had to kill herself, regenerate, to keep Pandora from emerging.

"He wasn't able to tell me what might happen before -" She cut herself off there, biting at her lip. While time had helped ease the sorrow she felt at losing him it still stung to try talking about it. At least Brax seemed to understand how they worked and might be able to help her figure it all out.

"The last time I saw him, he couldn't remember me at all. He had his memories of things we had done, of things I had said, of what he felt. But he couldn't put my face to any of it. When I left in my TARDIS, he seemed fine. No blowing up. I just don't want to risk it."

Of course, she hadn't exactly found her most recent Doctor yet. Just his younger selves, all of which she was too anxious of harming them and fearing they may not remember her to approach directly.

"Do you think his could have broken down here?"

"Yes, that means the block was working normally." He paused, debating Clara's need to know. "I spent a great deal of time with someone I had blocked from remembering me.

"I won't deny it was... difficult, but it was only when the reasons why I had blocked the memories reemerged that she began to remember. Torture caused a similar lapse, but... well, obviously that's not the case here.

"So, if he would come upon you here, he likely would still not remember you."

She frowned, but nods in understanding. It was as she thought. Which was for the best, no matter how much it tore at her heart and upset her.

"It's best to avoid him, then. Watch him from afar. The universe can't handle his remembering me, but...do you think all of his regenerations have forgotten? Or only the one it was directly applied to?"

"I would need more information, frankly, to be definitive," he pointed out. "But unless you've engaged in some temporal trickery, which would be enormously complex, then it wouldn't be retroactive."
spacegirl: (Default)

[personal profile] spacegirl 2016-03-03 10:04 pm (UTC)(link)
"I only reversed the polarity on the mind block he intended using on me with his sonic." She wasn't sure if that actually counted as trickery to the mind as much as just plain trickery in general, so she assumed that his previous selves would be clear to remember her. That made her happy, at least.

"Then no, his younger selves oughtn't be affected in the slightest," he confirmed.

"Good. That's...really good." She laughed as she moved to link her arm through his, and leaned over to rest her head against his arm. The relief and happiness she was feeling was evident as she was much more relaxed and actually was smiling.

"Now that you know what sort of business I've been meddling in, tell me how you've been occupying your time, Brax."
becauseichooseto: Miles pointing at the 'blood' stained dress of one of his fellow actresses. (gallows humour)

[personal profile] becauseichooseto 2016-03-03 10:18 pm (UTC)(link)
"Glad to help," he said, allowing the link. "Oh, getting hunted by bounty hunters, being erased from reality, made to believe I was several different people and now I stand on the cusp on actually making it to Gallifrey. So... ups and downs, I suppose?"
spacegirl: (critical)

[personal profile] spacegirl 2016-03-03 10:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Her nose wrinkled up at the mention of Gallifrey. "Why would you want to go back there? I've been there recently and it's awful. Filled with horrible people, present company excluded, of course." Because he and the Doctor and the two TARDIS she knows of are the only good things to come out of Gallifrey, as far as she's concerned. She supposes the children get a pass too. They're innocent in everything.

"Dealing with bounty hunters sounds like it could be fun, though."
becauseichooseto: Miles Richardson staring towards the back with Gallifrey (gallifrey)

[personal profile] becauseichooseto 2016-03-03 10:28 pm (UTC)(link)
"Have you?" he rose his eyebrows at the information. "And yes, it's full of horrible people, but I have some influence over them and... well, not all of them were horrible. Romana is my president, after all. She does need back up." He smiled.

He pulled a face at the bounty hunter comment. "Could be, I suppose. The being removed from reality interrupted it, however."

[personal profile] spacegirl 2016-03-03 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
"I can see how it would, yeah." She laughed, and gave her head a shake. It sounded like he was a lot like his brother, in terms of being a target for entirely too many things happening at any given time. "Trouble must run in the family. I'm sure the Doctor's proud."
becauseichooseto: miles richardson holding up a nice cup of tea and smiling cheekily (cup of tea)

[personal profile] becauseichooseto 2016-03-03 10:47 pm (UTC)(link)
"As the elder brother, Clara, it is my duty to be proud," he chided, making no sense, Braxiatel. But heaven forfend someone doesn't recognise the brotherly hierarchy.
spacegirl: (tease)

[personal profile] spacegirl 2016-03-04 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
"Are you, though?" She teased, giving him an amused look. "Proud of him, I mean. He's more likely to drive you absolutely mad, isn't he?"
becauseichooseto: Miles Richardson (as a proctologist) with a balloon animal on his head. For reasons. (Dignity what is this?)

[personal profile] becauseichooseto 2016-03-04 03:27 pm (UTC)(link)
"The two, unfortunately, are not mutually exclusive," he replied with a sigh.
