What: The MINGLE LOG for Week One of the Asgard Eventide Reunion!

Rating: PG-13 tops! Anything higher than that should be taken to a private log, please.

[ OOC NOTES: Whether you're making a return to the city or this is your first time setting foot into Asgard, the gods and Natives alike sure are happy to see you. As a note: we were super fortunate to have a few of our old NPC handlers volunteer to pick up their old Gods for the reunion! We currently have Hel, Heimdall, Baldr, Thor, Freyr, Mimir, Honir, Asgard!Loki, and also Frigg available for threading. If you'd like to request an appearance from one of these kids, please say so in the title of your comment. Some of us may make our own top-level as well, so be on the lookout for that! A million thanks to our NPC team for being so fantastic, we love and appreciate you so much.

"Mmhmm" Maglor shoots a grin at him and fishes the portrait he was given from a pocket to show him.

"So I bet if we find yours, you will get something as well."

And be overcome with the need to hug everyone, which Maglor thinks amusedly is not at all dissimilar to Fingon normally.

When Fingon found his lantern, he carefully took it into his hands. As soon as he touched it, a gold light flared up around him and when he looked at his hand there was a little stuffed animal of a grey horse.

Fingon's cheeks flushed- he knew this horse. It was the first one he had learned to ride and he had fond memories of Maedhros patiently teaching him. He hugged it tight before grabbing Maglor's arm to hug it as well.

"It's cute!"

Maglor steps back a little and shields his eyes, smiling when he also recognises the toy.

"Ah now an old familiar friend!"

Even expecting it he startles briefly before laughing softly and hugging back.

"As are you, hm, Finno?"

Fingon smiled brightly up at his cousin. "I'm glad you're here," he said though he couldn't say it enough. Maglor and Maedhros had always looked after him.

"Lets go to your house then. I can show Nelyo my gift!"

Maglor tugs again fondly.

"You bring joy, Finno. Come on then, your majesty. Why don't we go find my brother. Mind that this house is borrowed off one of the natives, eh! Don't the two of you go getting up to funny business!" He teases.

Fingon turned bright red at his cousin's words, nearly stumbling. "What would we get up to? Maitimo is my cousin!" he blurted out as he let Maglor lead the way.

That...most likely was not what Maglor was referring to and Fingon wanted to kick himself. "Of course, we won't do anything to damage the house," he assured him after a moment, summoning what dignity he had left as he held the stuffed toy.

Very subtle there, cousin.

Maglor raises an eyebrow at him. "Uh huh. There was a great phrase I learnt here, the last time." He says serenely. "Nice freudian slip there."

Also he's an ass and is not going to explain himself.

"A what slip?" Hopefully that meant that Maglor hadn't realized what Fingon was thinking but he didn't think he got away with that one.

"Lets go," he said quickly with a flush. He wanted to see Maitimo now that he knew he was here. "You have been here long then? How do you like it?"

Maglor only leers at Fingon and refuses to explain himself.

"I have, although I have come and gone from here as well. And I like it well enough." Well enough to stay, although he's mortal, here.

"The folk here are mostly quite kind, and Lord Loki only mildly annoying, when he's not in a bad mood."

"I'm glad you're happy here," Fingon said with all his heart. His cousin deserved happiness now.

"And I'm lucky to have my two favorite cousins," he said happily, trying to forget about his little slip. Hopefully Maglor would forget as well.

[bythewaves]

"Thank you, cousin." Maglor says gently. "Promise me something. When you go home. Be happy, alright? Don't worry about me. I would say 'forget me' but I know that will not happen."

Forget? HAHAHAHA such an optimist.

Fingon frowned at that, leaning against his cousin. "I don't know- Maglor- I think I died." He didn't want to think about it but he couldn't imagine surviving the fire and pain.

"No, I would never forget you, cousin. I love you too much for that."

[bythewaves]

Maglor swats him lightly. "Of course you died. But I cannot think Fingon the Valiant will be long in the Halls. I mean it, Finno. Promise me that you will seek for happiness."

He smiles at him wistfully. "Life would probably be easier if you could forget us all, but I know your heart is too great for that."

Despite the happiness ready to burst from him, tears welled up in Fingon's eyes. He didn't feel brave- he had been terrified of dying and he still was. He wasn't sure how long he would be in the Halls.

"I can't and won't forget either you or Maitimo!" the thought made a tear fall down his cheek. He loved them too much and the thought of being without them hurt.

"Ah Finno" Instantly contrite Maglor reaches to wipe away the tear.

"Do not weep, cousin. Not for me. You will live again and walk with your family in Tirion, and live as you were always meant to - in joy and peace."

"You're family though," Fingon said with a hiccup as he hugged Maglor, unable to help himself. He didn't want to think about an eternity without his two favorite cousins.

It wouldn't be complete. "Please try to return if you can?"

[bythewaves]

"Hush now," Maglor hugs him back comfortingly.

"No weeping, little cousin. We will always be family. But you know as well as I that I am Exile and worse than that - I cannot return, Finno."

"Are you happy here at least though?" Fingon wanted the best for his cousin. Maglor had always done so much for him he wanted to repay that now that he was older.

"At least I will get to see you here," he said as he leaned his head against Maglor's shoulder.

[bythewaves]

"Yes." No hesitation. "I have people here who need me, and now I have been granted the blessing of seeing you and Nelyo both. It is enough, Fingon - do not worry over me."

[consumedbyfire]

"I'm always going to worry, Maglor," Fingon said but he smiled now, reassured.

"You worry about me enough- let me worry about you and Nelyo," he said firmly. He loved his cousins too much to just let them be,

"I'm the older cousin." Maglor points out wryly. "I rather think worrying is my job."

"Yeah well- " Fingon thought for a moment as his expression shifted to a pout.

"Can I worry because I'm the king?" he asked after a moment. He didn't like being king but if he could use it to look after his cousins, he would.

[bythewaves]

Maglor snorts at him in fond amusement. "I suppose if your majesty wishes to, then who is this poor soldier to deny him?" If you want to pull the King card, Fingon, then Maglor is quite happy to pull the "BUT I AM ONLY A LOWLY SERVANT TO THE CROWN" routine.

"Yes, I wish to look after my beloved cousin," Fingon said before huffing , hugging Maglor's arm so he could lead the way to the house. "And nothing is going to convince me otherwise."

[bythewaves]

Maglor tugs on a braid fondly in answer.

"Worrywart." He accuses fondly. "And you wonder why you were so loved, as High King. No, I am sure of it - the Halls will not hold you long. You are far too bright a soul."

But yes yes yes, starting to walk to where he left Nelyo.
