What: The MINGLE LOG for Week One of the Asgard Eventide Reunion!

Rating: PG-13 tops! Anything higher than that should be taken to a private log, please.

[ OOC NOTES: Whether you're making a return to the city or this is your first time setting foot into Asgard, the gods and Natives alike sure are happy to see you. You can feel free to make your own headers, create your own events, or post your own logs elsewhere as you please. Please put [OPEN/CLOSED] along with the time/location of your character in the title of your comment.

As a note: we were super fortunate to have a few of our old NPC handlers volunteer to pick up their old Gods for the reunion! We currently have Hel, Heimdall, Baldr, Thor, Freyr, Mimir, Honir, Asgard!Loki, and also Frigg available for threading. If you'd like to request an appearance from one of these kids, please say so in the title of your comment. Some of us may make our own top-level as well, so be on the lookout for that! A million thanks to our NPC team for being so fantastic, we love and appreciate you so much.

"Well it is a very nice nose, so I am glad it is being put to good use."

Perfectly straight face.

Better live up to that nose, Doctor!

He taps his nose, raising his eyebrows meaningfully.

"I always put it to good use."

Maglor laughs softly.

"This had better be the best tea in Asgard, with claims like that Doctor!"

[comeonthensexy]

"Hey, I'm not the one who suggested anything! If your café isn't around, then we can talk about where my nose might lead us."

He washes his hands off this matter for now.

[bythewaves]

Maglor snorts in amusement and follows the Doctor.

"Well we are in luck, for I see the awning - although I do not know if the same person runs it now - probably not. What does your nose say?"

[comeonthensexy]

He shakes his head.

"My nose can't work my magic if we're not inside. The outside tells me nothing."

[bythewaves]

Maglor laughs and tugs him inside.

"Then inside, inside, and we shall see what we have found."

The inside smells of tea and coffee and cake.

He just laughs, too, and allows Maglor to tug him along. Even if he's usually not very okay with that, out of principle.

Well, he's gotten over it a little.

"All right, all right."

Once they're inside, he stops and takes a deep breath through his nose to smell it. Ahh, the best of smells ...

"Well, it's very promising. Let's go check out what teas they've got."

To the counter!

Maglor only tugs him enough to get him inside, knowing how he prefers to be the one doing the tugging.


"It does smell good." He agrees, following the Doctor to the counter and looking around in interest.

Good man.

There are teas of all sorts. Blacks and greens and reds and whites. Fruits and herbs. There's a little less on the cake front, but since they're mainly here for the tea anyway that's all right.

"Looks promising to me."

[bythewaves]

"It does." Maglor hums, pleased.

"Black or green catch your fancy?"

[comeonthensexy]

"I'm more of a black bloke. What about you?"

Earl Grey and things like that are always great, but he feels like perhaps trying something new. Surely they have a black tea he hasn't tried yet.

He'll just scan the whole row.

[bythewaves]

"Mm black today I think. I have more experience with it." Maglor eyes the selection before picking a simple English Breakfast. "I can always experiment more later."

[comeonthensexy]

"Now I think I'm obligated to call you a chicken. No time like the present."

But he doesn't push, and instead points at a random kind of tea which's name he doesn't recognise.

[bythewaves]

"Do you want me to cluck like one?" Maglor shoots back, amused.

"I am slow to experiment! And besides, that is what you are here for, no? If you like it, then I can try it, next time."

Maglor accepts his teapot and cup and sniffs as they bring the Doctor's over.

"Mm, at the least it smells interesting. A little... fruity, maybe? Is that a hint of mint?"

[comeonthensexy]

He gives a nod of thanks and brings the cup under his nose with a quiet hum.

"I believe so." There's a pause, before he sends Maglor an amused smile. "Feel free to give me your best chicken impression."

[bythewaves]

Maglor raises an imperious eyebrow at the Doctor... and produces the most accurate chicken imitation the Doctor has probably heard in a long time.

"Did I mention my brother could speak to animals and tried to teach us?"

[comeonthensexy]

Of course, there's nothing to do but laugh at that. The Doctor considers himself pretty good at imitating animals too, but that is incredible.

"No, I don't think you did! If there was ever a competition, you've won it."

[bythewaves]

"Well he could." Maglor laughs softly. "He could speak to pretty much any animal that existed, to my knowledge - he did tried to teach us, but mostly all any of us managed to do was copy him. Fortunately, I am a good mimic."

[comeonthensexy]

"That's amazing. I'm almost a little jealous."

But he has his own way of speaking to animals. As much as he claims that he can "speak cat" or whatever else, what that really means is that he can read their minds. Maybe it's cheating. It's been useful in many cases, though.

[bythewaves]

In fairness, Celegorm probably cheats and does so too.

"Only almost?" Maglor teases. "I must try harder, I see!"

[comeonthensexy]

"Unfortunately I don't think that'll get you very far. I can talk with animals too, you see. Just not in their own language like that. But I get by."

Anyway, he just realises they've been standing here with their cups of tea for a while now, and he's about to head somewhere to sit when he realises that he still doesn't have anything to eat. So they're held up for a little while longer while he tries to pick a piece of cake.

[bythewaves]

"If you can understand one another, that would be enough." Maglor agrees, and almost turns to look for a table before stopping with a laugh when he sees the Doctor dithering over cake.

"I always found chocolate remarkably good no matter where I ate it." He suggests. "Although that beesting cake looks interesting."

[comeonthensexy]

"Mmm, yes, it often is. Already had a piece of chocolate cake today, though. I'll try that strawberry one this time."

He taps the glass, and smiles widely as the native excitedly goes on about how tasty it is, and that they're fresh strawberries, and the cream is the owner's very own farm ...

"I'll make sure to let you know what I think so you can pass it on."

[bythewaves]

Maglor chuckles and asks for a piece of the beesting, getting much the same sort of response.

"I think we had best find a place to sit down and enjoy our bounty!"
