MINGLE LOG: WEEK ONE

Who: Everyone!
What: The MINGLE LOG for Week One of the Asgard Eventide Reunion!
When: March 1-7
Where: Anywhere in town!
Rating: PG-13 tops! Anything higher than that should be taken to a private log, please.

[ OOC NOTES: Whether you're making a return to the city or this is your first time setting foot into Asgard, the gods and Natives alike sure are happy to see you. This is a catch-all mingle log for Week One! Please check HERE for a run-down on what's cookin' this week. You can feel free to make your own headers, create your own events, or post your own logs elsewhere as you please. Please put [OPEN/CLOSED] along with the time/location of your character in the title of your comment.

As a note: we were super fortunate to have a few of our old NPC handlers volunteer to pick up their old Gods for the reunion! We currently have Hel, Heimdall, Baldr, Thor, Freyr, Mimir, Honir, Asgard!Loki, and also Frigg available for threading. If you'd like to request an appearance from one of these kids, please say so in the title of your comment. Some of us may make our own top-level as well, so be on the lookout for that! A million thanks to our NPC team for being so fantastic, we love and appreciate you so much.

Asuka's fourteen year old body strained just a bit as the demon-girl's arm ensnared her like a rope. But the pain effected her little, as the face that was now so close to her's was one she thought she'd never see again.

And so Asuka smiled, it was all she could really think to do.

"I guess I am." she laughed through small tears. "Or this is a really really good dream."

"If it's a dream, I don't want to wake up," she murmured, her lips brushing around and over Asuka's, seconds before she was kissing her in public, lifting that little frame up and off of the ground. She'd always been tall, and Asuka'd always been trapped in that eternally young body. So lifting her up just seemed the natural thing.

Did she care if people were watching, if there'd been stories about some of the various travelers falling in love or wonders if they'd be reunited? No, not really. Right then, all she could be fucked to care about was the feeling of the warmth of Asuka's lips. She did slacken the grip so that she could breathe again, at least.

Asuka felt like a child again as she was lifted into the air. But it was a good feeling, a warm one that reminded her of the days of her youth when her mother was still sane and her self-worth not bound to a living machine.

She to couldn't care less what the random people around them thought, the only people who mattered at the moment were the two of them....and possibly Shinji if he was watching, he really deserved to see this.

There she was, dangling just off of the ground. Her hands gripped and held firm, one pawing down to squeeze her right on the rear even as she was using the position to help support Asuka's light body weight. Her lips drew hungrily on the pilot's, tilting to the side and running her tongue along the lower lip.

She didn't break the kiss quickly. When she did, she was breathing a little heavily. "Gods, I've... I've missed you, and I didn't even realize it until I was here again. It's all flooding back to me, you're flooding back into my mind all over again."

Asuka took it all in as if she were starved and seemed as if she might pass out from the excitement at times. Back home all she had remembered of her long relationship was a flash of red, or a small tinge of something missing, but none of that mattered now as they embraced.

"I've missed you so much..." She kissed Samantha once more in the cheek. "All I did back home was fight and fight and fight, this feels so strange..."

"I think that's all either of us really ever does," she whispered, the palm of her hand pressing to Asuka's face while she sighed wistfully. She smiled and slowly started to lower her to the balls of her feet while her lips continued to hover. "You... in those gigantic robots of yours, me against every tom, dick and harry in a spandex suit."

She laughed, not letting go at all. "I'm not letting you out of my sight today, you know." There were other people to reunite with, but they felt a little less important for the moment.

Asuka nodded with a broad smile on her face. There was nothing she'd rather be doing in a place like this then spend time with the girlfriend she had forgotten she had ever had while at home.

"Well since there isn't a war going on, I've got nothing better to do so...I guess I'm all yours."

She fully set her down, one arm coiled around her waist while she started to walk, looking around. "Nope, no war. No horrors from beyond, no dragons." Thank god for no giant lizards. "We just have all this time to wander and catch up... you know on all the fighting, and when we're done? Catch up on better things."

Asuka smirked and then took Samantha's hand, interlocked her fingers with her own and began pulling for them to go.

"Where to then?" she smiled legitimately for the first time in quite awhile.

"The hell away from the crowds. What do you say we go find somewhere to eat and try to relax some," Samantha said, taking the hand that was laced with her own and starting to pull. She wasn't in a hurry, now that they were walking together, but she definitely wanted away from some of the crowds that were forming.

Asuka followed with a wide grin on her face. It didn't matter where they were going, only that they were going together.

As they walked, she snickered to herself and glanced over at Asuka. "You know... asking 'so what have you been up to lately' just sounds profoundly stupid right about now. Doesn't it?" Honestly, what were they going to say? Worse, it might have been a literal second since she arrived back home before she got here.

Asuka laughed as well, all she had been doing since leaving this place was fight, fight, and fight some more. So asking "what she had been up to" would elicit a very short response.

"I think you already know the answer to that question anyway."

"I do, and I think you'd tell me if the news got any worse than it already was in your world as is, so I don't think I need to pump you for details like that, not yet anyway." She sighed and shook her head. "And not a lot has changed for me either. Just people in tights flying around, making asses out of themselves. Same old same old."

Her smirk took on a wry note. "So, there anything you always wanted to try while you were stuck here but couldn't because of the war?"

Asuka thought long and hard, what she remembered of Asgard was close to nil. Making it difficult to figure out what she wanted to do with her beloved partner. "Why don't we get something to eat? Since I got home I've been eating nothing but military rations." She stuck out her tongue as she spoke.

"That sounds like an excellent idea," Samantha said, turning down one of the streets and looking for signs of a restaurant, or one of the booths of food, whichever was more convenient. It wasn't like she had a lot of cash this time around, after all.

Thankfully, the latter was up ahead, one of the many booths with the refreshments of the locals lined out. "Bet they're going to put us up in the houses again. I remember seeing one of them intact."

Looking at the many booth, Asuka quietly contemplated what would soon fill her belly. At the mention of the houses, however, she cringed.

"Really, those dumps again..." she thought for a moment. "I guess that means we'll be roomies again, huh?

"The only real dump was my apartment, but it was secure. That was what I was concerned about in those days." Which was to say, she was less concerned now, something of a statement right then. As they walked up to the booths, she stared to put meat onto one of the plates, almost exclusively, adding whatever spice she could find.

"But... if you want to, yes. We can share a room. I'd like that."

Asuka heaped lighter fare upon her plate as they went. Though she was used to the finer things in life, fourteen years of fighting had made her taste in food more practical and frugal then extravagant.

"I'd like that, it will be nice to be together in a time of peace." she said as she took a seat and gazed over her meal with the same murderous intent she displayed on the battlefield.

Samantha was slow to eat. She'd been better fed than Asuka in the last few years, and besides she still could barely taste most of this anyway. Grinning over at her, she munched and swallowed what looked like sausage.

"It would. It would almost be like we were a couple, in a way, wouldn't it?" No, she wasn't really talking about dating. She was seeing if that implication flustered Asuka at all, after all they'd done.

Asuka looked up from her greenery and stared at Samantha and cocked her head to the side in in confusion for a moment before speaking: "Huh what are you talking about? I distinctly remember calling you me my girlfriend ages ago. Did something change?"

She snickered and brushed her hand down against the back of Asuka's hand, fingers nudging one of her ring fingers as she teased. "I wasn't talking about girlfriends, silly. Not that we didn't live together just fine as that before."

Asuka blushed lightly, intimacy was another thing she had sacrificed on the to be an Eva pilot. So even a small gesture such as this broad a deep red hue to her pale face.

"I knew that!" She said in a tsundre manner. "I was just testing you."

"Mmm, I see. Testing me, were you?" She said, winking as she leaned in to brush her lips close before taking another long bite and glancing away. She swallowed and coughed once into her hand, looking nervous. "Sorry, though. Something like that isn't something I should tease about. I ... well..."

A sigh. "It's just that, believe it or not, I was here for a long time after you left. Trying to find ways to remember everyone here, remember you. It's... been a lot longer for me than it has for you."

"Really?"

Asuka enjoyed the small favor, but her mind was in a different place. She couldn't even imagine wandering around a place like this and trying to remember the people you knew and loved. It simply didn't compute in her brain for some reason.

"Well, I'm here now. And that is what matters, right?"
