What: The MINGLE LOG for Week One of the Asgard Eventide Reunion!
When: March 1-7
Where: Anywhere in town!
Rating: PG-13 tops! Anything higher than that should be taken to a private log, please.

[ OOC NOTES: Whether you're making a return to the city or this is your first time setting foot into Asgard, the gods and Natives alike sure are happy to see you. This is a catch-all mingle log for Week One! Please check HERE for a run-down on what's cookin' this week. You can feel free to make your own headers, create your own events, or post your own logs elsewhere as you please. Please put [OPEN/CLOSED] along with the time/location of your character in the title of your comment.

As a note: we were super fortunate to have a few of our old NPC handlers volunteer to pick up their old Gods for the reunion! We currently have Hel, Heimdall, Baldr, Thor, Freyr, Mimir, Honir, Asgard!Loki, and also Frigg available for threading. If you'd like to request an appearance from one of these kids, please say so in the title of your comment. Some of us may make our own top-level as well, so be on the lookout for that! A million thanks to our NPC team for being so fantastic, we love and appreciate you so much.

"Not when you put it that way." Maglor says, amused. "Although I think I can guess your meaning. But change is always interesting, if not always pleasant. Are you hoping for a good one?"

"I am hoping for a good one," he replies, thoughtfully. "As good as it gets, for me."

[bythewaves]

"Then you have my strongest wishes that it is so. But here we are standing around - should we find a place to sit and have a cup of tea?"

"I would be delighted," he replied, with a smile. "My future is already starting to look up."

"Then we had best find the best tea in town, eh?"

Maglor smiles in return and offers to let him lead the way.

"Absolutely!" he replies, thinking about what café to go. He picks a direction.

[bythewaves]

"Have you had much of a chance to look around yet?" Maglor asks as they walk.

"It seems a lot of the old places are gone, but there are even more new ones."

[becauseichooseto]

"A quick reconnoissance," he shrugged. "Enough to establish much the same. And that there's a shrine to us. And Satan as well, which is certainly... curious."

[bythewaves]

"I saw the one to us, and the little memorial markers - there is one at my usual pub, which is odd indeed! But... to Satan, truly? I would have thought the opposite, considering..."

[becauseichooseto]

"There is no folk stranger than people, so they say," he replied with a shrug. "I forget who, precisely, but it's an apt little saying."

[bythewaves]

"A strange, but apt saying." Maglor blinks curiously. "And proven ably here, I think!"

Because seriously, SERIOUSLY, who builds a shrine to the guy who sold them out to the enemy?

He nodded, rolling his eyes. Completely bananas.

"This place suit you?" he asked, as they came upon a café.

Maglor casts a practiced eye over the menu and nods.

"As well as any, aye - shall we see how good their tea is?"

He flags down a waiter and asks for a pot of earl grey.

"Sounds like a plan."

Finding a free table, he sits down on one of the chair, smiling.

[bythewaves]

Maglor settles down next to him with a sigh.

"Civilisation has spoilt me. I have not had a decent cup of tea in months, as the place I am now does not have them."

[becauseichooseto]

"And where is that that is so barbaric?" he asked, dryly.

[bythewaves]

"Home, actually." Maglor says dryly.

"Or well... a version of it. Tis Arda, for certain, but... marred somehow. A distant future, perhaps. The lands are desolate, and the only crops we have are those we grow ourselves - and we have only just edged into early spring for first plantings. So... as you can imagine... no tea."

[becauseichooseto]

He seems like he's thinking of something in particular, prompted by Maglor's description, but he is also in his own head about it. "Perhaps someone here will get you some seeds," he suggests. "Bring civilisation back to a drying land."

[bythewaves]

Maglor doesn't press, sure that Brax will tell him if he thinks it relevant.

"You know, I never tried to bring anything back with me, but it is worth a try. Perhaps if I carry seeds in my pocket."

[becauseichooseto]

He nods. "The worst that can happen is that it doesn't work."

[bythewaves]

"Aye - I suppose I should fill my pockets with useful things while I am here. Tea, and perhaps tools... "

[becauseichooseto]

"Cake," he smiled. "Biscuits."

[bythewaves]

"Cake I sincerely doubt will travel well!" Maglor chuckles at the thought.

"Biscuits... Perhaps! But I do not fancy the crumbs in my pockets after!"

"Well, you'd wrap them up, wouldn't you?" he points out.

[bythewaves]

"Of course, but they'd still squash!"
