What: The MINGLE LOG for Week One of the Asgard Eventide Reunion!
When: March 1-7
Where: Anywhere in town!
Rating: PG-13 tops! Anything higher than that should be taken to a private log, please.

[ OOC NOTES: Whether you're making a return to the city or this is your first time setting foot into Asgard, the gods and Natives alike sure are happy to see you. You can feel free to make your own headers, create your own events, or post your own logs elsewhere as you please. Please put [OPEN/CLOSED] along with the time/location of your character in the title of your comment.

As a note: we were super fortunate to have a few of our old NPC handlers volunteer to pick up their old Gods for the reunion! We currently have Hel, Heimdall, Baldr, Thor, Freyr, Mimir, Honir, Asgard!Loki, and also Frigg available for threading. If you'd like to request an appearance from one of these kids, please say so in the title of your comment. Some of us may make our own top-level as well, so be on the lookout for that! A million thanks to our NPC team for being so fantastic, we love and appreciate you so much.

A scoff as Elrond settled beside him, leaning into his side comfortably. "I have never known you a coward. Were I there, I would stand at your side and speak with you to them."

He smiled a little, a little wistful. "Aye."

[bythewaves]

"Ah my clever little one. I was always a coward, Elrond. Too afraid to say no."

He reaches up and starts carding through Elrond's hair, humming softly.

"No. You were brave to say yes. To stand between your brother and children who were too frightened to run." And stubborn.

Elrond sighed, letting his head settle on Maglor's shoulder and relax under the petting. Maglor cheated by using all his weaknesses against him.

[bythewaves]

"Only once. And it hardly pays for all."

Maglor smiles as Elrond settles, pleased that the old tricks still work.

"But once has granted me a great blessing."

[loveathousandyearsgone]

"No. Your following acts speak further. You could have treated us poorly, for how often we attempted escape. Instead you loved us, and taught us. You took us into your heart and your home."

Be glad Elrond loves you, Maglor! He couldn't help the smile.

"One that lives on."

[bythewaves]

"I would have been VERY worried if you had not tried to escape, Elrond." Maglor points out dryly.

"After all, we were both your kidnappers and the slayers of your kin. And it was easy to love you."

A dry little chuckle right back. "Indeed! Yet you never abused us, nor allowed harm to come to us. Others would not have been so kind."

Elrond raised his head just enough to lean his forehead against Maglor's, arms moving to curl around him. "Yes, you were. But as you said, it became easy to love you in turn."

[bythewaves]

"We were - we are kin too you know." Maglor points out dryly.

"Your great-grandfather is my cousin, after all. I would not have done you harm, nor Maedhros either - not once you were under our care."

He starts a little but wraps his arms back around Elrond and buries his face his in hair.

"Thank you, yonya."

A little nudge of elbow to side. "I do recall my history lessons, adar." After all, Elrond was often the one people went to when they needed some obscure fact, or some text read that few others could. Or at least....That was how it had been, before he'd Sailed.

"And it was getting to your care that took courage. I will not hear you say otherwise again."

Elrond smiled gently at him though, tightening his embrace.

[bythewaves]

"Always so clever." Maglor tugs a strand of hair. "Very well, I will yield to you in this."

Ha! He smothered the smug pleasure and kissed Maglor on the cheek. "As you should."

Elrond threaded fingers through his foster father's hair affectionately. "What were you doing with yourself in the altered Arda?"

[bythewaves]

"I keep myself busy and to myself, for the most part."

Maglor smiles, leaning a little into his hand. "Mostly, I watch."

[loveathousandyearsgone]

"You spend no time with anyone?" A sigh. Elrond cupped Maglor's cheek fondly. "Not your mother or any other?"

[bythewaves]

"I... things are strained with mother, at the moment. Not entirely her fault - events of the world. But yes, I stay with her, mostly."

[loveathousandyearsgone]

A one armed hug. "I expect you are some degree of comfort for her. Even with how the world has changed. And I am glad you are not alone."

[bythewaves]

A low chuckle. "Well, you already know I do not do well with loneliness. I thank you for the kind thoughts."

[loveathousandyearsgone]

"I do. Just as you know the same." Wry affection. just another reason Elrond would not just up and leave without a fight. "You were always there when Elros and I needed you. Very attentive."

[bythewaves]

Maglor snorts in amusement.

"I had to be attentive, lest I lose the two of you up a tree or down a well."

[loveathousandyearsgone]

A fond tug on Maglor's hair.

"That I believe, is because Elros was a terrible influence," he murmured. "And got us lost."

[bythewaves]

Maglor's eyebrow shoots up.

"Only Elros? I hardly think so Elrond!"

[loveathousandyearsgone]

The chuckle ruined his stern defense.

"It often was!" Just...not always. "Though he was often very good at getting us back out of trouble."

[bythewaves]

"Often is not always, Elrond." Maglor scolds with an answering laugh.

"And that much is very true."

And he is totally telling Elros when he gets back.

Traitor! Elrond couldn't help the unrepentant grin, though he fought it valiantly.

"He was a good brother," he murmured, fighting the usual shadow of sorrow and loss that always came with thoughts of Elros.

[bythewaves]

"The very best." Maglor runs his hand through Elrond's hair.

"He misses you too."

[loveathousandyearsgone]

He stilled at the implication, despite the comforting hand through his hair.

"Elros...Is there?" It made him want to follow Maglor from Asgard even more.
