MINGLE LOG: WEEK ONE

Who: Everyone!
What: The MINGLE LOG for Week One of the Asgard Eventide Reunion!
When: March 1-7
Where: Anywhere in town!
Rating: PG-13 tops! Anything higher than that should be taken to a private log, please.

[ OOC NOTES: Whether you're making a return to the city or this is your first time setting foot into Asgard, the gods and Natives alike sure are happy to see you. This is a catch-all mingle log for Week One! Please check HERE for a run-down on what's cookin' this week. You can feel free to make your own headers, create your own events, or post your own logs elsewhere as you please. Please put [OPEN/CLOSED] along with the time/location of your character in the title of your comment.

As a note: we were super fortunate to have a few of our old NPC handlers volunteer to pick up their old Gods for the reunion! We currently have Hel, Heimdall, Baldr, Thor, Freyr, Mimir, Honir, Asgard!Loki, and also Frigg available for threading. If you'd like to request an appearance from one of these kids, please say so in the title of your comment. Some of us may make our own top-level as well, so be on the lookout for that! A million thanks to our NPC team for being so fantastic, we love and appreciate you so much.

[Green robes and a flash of blonde hair - some may recognize the small child (eleven again for the third time now!) as she doggedly pursues the lantern with her name on it, laughing happily with every step. She'd only stuck around for a few months after the war before finally leaving to reunite with her friends at home, and she'd only spent a little while there again before she ended up drawn back all the same, but... It's a welcome sight, even if it's not exactly as she remembers it, and she's only too glad to have returned for the moment.]

Got you!

[She has to close her eyes against the brightness of it, but when she sees what it's become - a little gusk plush, in fact - she only laughs even more, holding it close.]

I wonder... is everyone back again? Let's go see!

"Why if it is not the little lady Hibiki!" Maglor turns towards her when he hears her familiar laugh, coming over to bow politely.

"It does me good to see that smile again."

"Maglor-san!"

The excitement doesn't dip at all, and instead of bowing in return, she latches onto him in a hug. She's so ecstatic at this point, it doesn't even occur to her that it may be due to the lantern she just caught.

"It feels like it's been so long! How are you?"

He oofs with surprise and stiffens briefly before relaxing and bending to hug her back - this is Hibiki, after all - he knows she likes hugs, although she's not normally quite this forward.

"It rather has been, I suppose! And well enough. You went home, eh? How have you been?"

"I've been well!" Much better than when she came here last, even - she's all recovered from the accident and everything.

"Did you know? My world has ganabira - dragons, too! We found a little one and returned him to his family!"

Judging by her excitement, this was a fairly recent event.

"They aren't much like the ones here, though... thank goodness." Now that she has the memories to compare, it somehow felt all the more significant.

"Very much not like the ones here by the sounds of it!" Maglor hopes. "Or the ones in my world, I trust. But that is good - I am glad to hear that. And what of your own doings?" He ruffles her hair fondly.

Hair ruffles! Gosh she still loves those. Her smile only grows even bigger!

"Heheh-! Well, it was mostly Misaki-san who did it, but I helped with the ganabira-- the dragon's training! He got hurt, and that's why he was separated from his family. He couldn't fly and get back to them, so we helped him get stronger so he could fly again!"

She dips her head a little out of embarrassment, though.

"Um... I need to exercise more at home. After a while, I couldn't keep up anymore."

"I am sure you did more than you know." Maglor smiles at her. "It certainly sounds as if you worked very hard!"

A chuckle.

"Well, you are still young - you will get stronger, with time and practice! You did very well here, after all!"

"I wonder if it's because I was always running around..." She had so much work to do! And so many pets to take care of! And she thought work at home was busy.

"It's a little strange to be back and see everything so different, but... I'm glad. I have so many important memories from this place..." Her smile is fond, if a bit melancholy. It's definitely sad to know that she'll probably have to leave again at some point and lose the memories all over again, but for now at least...

For now, she can remember, and celebrate with all the people she had left.

"Perhaps! You did work very hard when you were here." He smiles at her fondly.

"We all do, eh? I am so pleased to see you all again, and to know that you are doing well."

"I never got to help out so much before!" After all, in her own world, she doesn't have any particular abilities... "I just wanted to do as much as I could."

But right, they're in Asgard once again!

"Have you seen many of the others? Everything's so different now!"

"And you did, I remember." Maglor twinkles at her. "I remember our brave healer friend always trying to keep us cheerful."

He nods. "Riley is here, so I must assume Ellie must be as well, although Ihave not seen her yet. I have found my Kevin, and Elrond, as well as Hamel, Master Braxiatel and the Doctor, as well. Have you found anyone yourself?"

"Eh-- Brave is a little..." Strong is the word that comes to mind, since she isn't really. She just wanted to be useful is all.

"I met Hamel-san, but so far it's just been him and you! I got distracted trying to catch that lantern." But, well, in Asgard, it's hard not to get caught up in these sorts of things.

"You were." Maglor says firmly. "Do not despise the courage of a gentle heart - and yours is a great one indeed. Ah, and that must have given you both joy, eh. The lanterns are great fun, though, are they not?"

She's not even going to bother arguing - it's hard for her to believe, but she also doesn't want to dwell on such things at a time like this. Instead, she nods eagerly at the mention of the lanterns.

"Uh-huh! I still can't believe they have lanterns for everybody... " So many people had passed through this world, and yet, each one seemed to have a lantern of their own.

"Nor I! There are names here that I am sure where never here the last time - did you know I found one for my cousin?"

Maglor chuckles softly. "He got a toy of his first horse. Magic, I am guessing. What did you get?"

"Your cousin?" Oh wow... she doesn't remember ever meeting a cousin of his, so they must not have been here. But... wait, that means--

"There's others being brought here, too?" She thought they were just pulling the same souls again...!

"Oh, um... I got a little gusk-san!" She fetches the plush toy from her pocket.

"That is what it seems, aye! Not many... but... one or two, here and there." He nods and smiles to see the little toy.

"Ah, Hibiki, that is sweet! From your world to this, eh? A little piece of home. How long do you think you will stay?"

"Uh-huh! It's a little gusk - they live in the forests where I come from. There were a bunch that lived in the forest around my ho-- My home, for a while." Although that place no longer exists...

But ah, as for staying-- "I'm still not sure... I don't want to leave Shii-chan for too long again." What she means is, she doesn't want to be without Shii-chan for long, but. She doesn't want to dwell on that, either.
